Any wired pair. This alone stops the echo of my voice bleeding back through your mic — the single most common thing that makes an episode sound amateur.
Carpet, curtains, a couch — anything that absorbs sound. Avoid glass, tile, and big empty rooms. A closet genuinely sounds great.
Face a window or a lamp. A window behind you turns you into a silhouette.
Stack the laptop on some books. Looking down at a webcam isn't anyone's best angle.
Close Slack and email, silence your phone, turn on Do Not Disturb. Notification dings are hard to edit out.
We record in Riverside, which runs in the browser. Ethernet beats wifi; sitting near the router beats both.
